Shipt customers can order online from Target, Bed Bath & Beyond, CVS, GNC and Office Depot in Duluth. A Shipt Shopper will then come to the store, walk the aisles like a regular shopper, and then deliver the order within an hour. There is also a Shipt Driven service, where customers can place an order through a retailer’s website and a Shipt Shopper will pick up the order from Best Buy, Build-a-Bear, and Hollister for delivery.
“We’re really excited, especially since our community is as far as the comfort level is a little different when it comes to indoor shopping,” said Ashlee Dilley, Store Manager at Target.
Dilley said that while Target has offered same-day delivery and pickup services, the delivery option is a great new feature for Target and the Duluth community, especially as the holiday season approaches.
Like other delivery services, Shipt Shoppers communicates with customers by SMS via a protected phone number. Buyers can request alternatives if a store is out of product, or buyers can request items they forgot to order. Jaime Keleher, regional operations manager for Shipt, said customer service and communication with Shift is what the company says sets itself apart from other purchasing and delivery departments.

Shipt will deliver to seven zip codes in the Duluth area that are within a 20 to 30 minute radius of the stores, but Keleher said they do not currently deliver across the bridge to Wisconsin. Alcohol orders cannot be placed, but that’s another offer Keleher said the company hopes to add soon.
Customers can use the Shipt app or website, or order through the store. A Shipt subscription costs $ 99 per year and orders can be delivered to any city where the service is available. Target.com offered a 50% promotion on an annual subscription when a customer signed up before Saturday, November 6. Customers can also place single orders through Target without a subscription and pay a delivery charge for each order. Orders must be at least $ 35, but there is no limit to an order size.
Shipt Shoppers are able to decide when they want to work and can choose which orders they buy and deliver. Keleher said that many Shipt buyers have been drawn to the flexible and non-traditional work schedules offered by Shipt.

“We are really excited to be at Duluth as it gives an independent contractor the flexibility to choose and work essentially as they wish on the schedule they want,” Keleher said. “We currently have around 15 Shoppers hired, and we’re really waiting to see how our order volume will grow and grow. “
She said there were more people than they would be willing to hire as needed, and Shipt is accepting applications for more buyers.
Shipt, which operates across the United States, is owned and operated by Target Corporation. It also operates in Minneapolis and St. Cloud. For more information or to place an order, visit shipt.com or the Shipt app.
