MissionGO Flight Demonstrations in the Navajo Nation

BALTIMORE, 03 Feb. 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — MissionGOa leader in the production and operation of unmanned aircraft systems (UAS), was invited by the Office of the President and Vice President of the Navajo Nation, and the mobile health care company ZappCare, to show how MissionGO’s Unmanned Aircraft Delivery Service can be used to transport medical supplies and other essentials to people living in the most remote areas of the Navajo Nation.

The four flight demonstrations, named by the Navajo Nation as “Healing Eagle Feather”, took place at Window Rock, Az. on Saturday, January 22, 2022. Each flight made a unique cargo delivery to highlight broad customer use cases: 1) pharmaceutical medical cargo that could be delivered by Navajo healthcare providers of insulin, d inhaler, vitamins and blood pressure medication; 2) healthy and fresh produce, including carrots, zucchini, bananas and apples, as well as a locally prepared meal; 3) an emergency kit that could be delivered by Navajo first responders with water, flashlight and batteries, emergency blanket, MRE and satellite phone; and 4) medicines for livestock.

The cargo delivery research and demonstrations conducted by MissionGO would not be possible without the collaboration and integrations with MediGOa supply chain asset management platform that manages the complex chain of custody and intricate mode of transportation for urgent medical freight, and AlarisPro, a fleet management and maintenance tracking platform which provides pilots and crew with information on airworthiness, aircraft readiness, pilot qualifications and countless other data to ensure a high level of confidence that the aircraft will continue to fly safely to communities.

“The COVID-19 pandemic has revealed and accelerated healthcare’s desperate need for high-quality chain-of-custody, resource management, and transportation organization. Conventional healthcare logistics rely on manual solutions that are particularly unreliable for high value assets with high urgency, often resulting in poor quality care delivery. MissionGO and MediGO develop technology solutions that improve healthcare resource efficiency, improve outcomes and reduce costs, while integrating with unmanned aircraft,” said Scott Plank, co-founder and CEO of MissionGO and MediGO. .

The Jan. 22 Healing Eagle Feather air operations were hosted in partnership with ZappCare, a mobile healthcare innovator that aims to bridge the medical divide for Native American communities.

“We thank the Navajo Nation, and in particular Vice President Myron Lizer, for inviting MissionGO to demonstrate some of the capabilities of unmanned aircraft systems. We also thank President Nez and other Navajo leaders for their generous commitment time educating our team and talking with the community about future collaborations. MissionGO shows how we are leapfrogging poor infrastructure to provide recurring and urgent health care and emergency services to the Navajo community,” added Plank.

MissionGO engages with communities and businesses in three ways:

  • Perform critical infrastructure inspection as a leading UAS operator in the country inspecting utilities to identify critical maintenance and transmission issues.
  • Cargo Mining has enabled autonomous unmanned helicopters to provide safe, efficient, low-cost, and low-carbon-footprint transport of critical medical cargo, such as blood samples and human organ transplants; healthy, fresh and local foods; and more.
  • Train first responders nationwide to earn their FAA 107 Commercial UAS Pilot License, to safely operate UAS, and provide training in tactics and skills for the many situations encountered by first responders.

In 2021, MissionGO was named XCELLENCE Award Winner by the Association for Unmanned Vehicles Systems International (AUVSI) for the longest UAS human organ delivery flight. For more information about MissionGO, a JSP Ventures company, please visit www.missiongo.io.
