Volvo Group Australia has launched a new podcast series that focuses on emerging technologies, covering everything from electromobility and autonomy to sustainability and alternative fuels.
The company says the series aims to help inform and engage anyone interested in the why, what and where of our mobility future.
Entitled “Emerging Possibilities”, it is moderated by Paul Illmer, vice-president of emerging technologies; Tim Camilleri, head of e-mobility solutions; and Matt Wood, Strategic Projects and Communications Manager.
“We’re at an interesting time in history,” Illmer said. “On the one hand, we have a lot of converging technologies in areas such as engine development, safety systems and telematics. On the other hand, there is an acceleration in demand for electromobility and alternatives to the traditional heat engine. This demand for information on these emerging technologies does not always follow the supply.
He continued, “Our goal with this series is to be as independent of the brand as possible while exploring topics that may be of interest to people in the industry curious about what’s to come and how best to prepare for it.
“And we think the best way to do that is to hear from subject matter experts across the industry, not just from the Volvo Group internally.”
The 10-part series will aim to bust the myths and address the big questions around zero-emission transportation and automation.
“At the Volvo Group, we often talk about shaping the world we want to live in,” Illmer added. “So helping to drive the conversation about emissions and sustainability here in Australia is a very important part of that mission.
“At the end of the day, it’s about empowering people and arming them with the right information from the start.”
